Office set up

Here you see my office setup, complete with comfortable dog. She's just happy to smell that shell chair again. I'm just happy to have my second monitor again.

So this picture was taken two minutes ago, and is being posted from that very laptop. That's pleasing circularity.

I'm going to move a little faster now that I can be here all day every day. Or at least, that's my hope.

  1. Wow, that's a big step.

I'm cleaning/detrashing/sorting the third floor of a friend's house, ostensibly so the library can be in order. To be appraised.

I'm going to have to dust the hardcovers before I sort them, and there is a good chance that some more will get trashed. A squirrel infested the third floor for a while and some things are just beyond the pale.

And I can't get the f-king windows to open. So I'm making sure to pace myself and consume lots of water when it's hot. But the book sorting is going to be easier than the de-trashing/sorting.

  2. But now you'll have distractions on site. [EG]

  3. Well, the chief distraction, of course, is that I have to earn a living; the problem for the past two weeks is that I could go for about an hour or two before getting nervous that I wasn't making deadline. This way, I can get in multiple half-hour sessions over the course of a day, with no nervousness.

dragonet2, I shudder to think of it. In my case, the bank paid a cleaning company to get all the junk out before I ever saw it -- left the dirt, largely, but at least the haulage was taken care of for me.

  4. And the dog looks as though she's never getting out of that chair again. Just in case.

  5. It amuses me how normal it looks right up until the boarded-up window.

  6. yeah. I'm taking rags over Monday to double-dust the hardcovers as I pull them off shelves and sort them, and rubber gloves to protect me until they're dusted once.

The removal of boxes is causing my friend great pain. I tried to show him an example, a box for a toy that is now non-existent as far as I can tell. When I picked it up the glued bits fell open. He took it from me, smiled a sly smile and then kind of sidled downstairs with the useless box in his hands.

  7. Well, the ceiling looks clean!

  8. Starcat_jewel, the ceiling is not clean. I haven't mopped the ceiling in that room yet, just in the entry hall and parts of the bedroom that really needed it.

    The mind boggles.
