This is almost a kitchen you could use for, say, food preparation. I didn't take a before picture of the sink. Let's just say that the previous occupant ate a lot of ramen noodles, and that the old faucet had limed shut. Perhaps long before he moved out, actually. Once I replaced the faucet to get water to the sink, the resulting mass of ramen was easily removed by scraping with a window shim - a cheap, disposable tool for said purpose. Its smell was fortunately muted by having been freeze-dried during February, but was still nothing pretty.
Every time I complete one of these tasks, I feel so civilized. I still don't want to take my shoes off in here, but ... I'm closer.
