We'll be closing on Tuesday if we can get all the paperwork together.
I can't say I'll miss Richmond much, honestly. It's a town with a distinct past - but that past is dead and done. I suspect a dynamic and exciting future could be started there (by someone with better people skills than I), but there are better places to do that. Puerto Rico is a likely; it's never had what you could call an industrial economy, but the weather's pretty fantastic.
I'd say I would miss The House (and I will) but it will always be a part of me now. I memorized it so thoroughly that I can easily visualize any aspect of it. It was impressive how well it weathered a year standing empty; they certainly built to last back then.
Anyway, this blog has been relatively moribund for the past year as I focused on building my business in Hungary, and will likely stay that way for the foreseeable future. At some point I hope it will turn into my story of building another masonry house built on nineteenth-century principles, or it may feature the next house I own.
Honestly, what I'd like to do is to explore the possibilities of automated masonry and automated carpentry. So this blog may yet become exciting again! But don't hold your breath. That's a longer-term goal.
